Series 2: Inside the Founder's Mind

Serial Entrepreneurs Live — Forum & Networking Dinner

The Q&A refused to end — and that was the best part. On 23 July 2026, NAAE hosted its second forum at NTU@one-north. The evening opened with a welcome address by Mr Th'ng Beng Hooi, Director of NTU Office of Alumni Engagement, followed by Chairperson Ms Susan Teh, who shared the alliance's mission: to build a trusted community where no entrepreneur builds alone. The spotlight then turned to Inside the Founder's Mind: Serial Entrepreneurs Live. Moderated by Hendri Zhang, the panel featured Dr Rosemary Tan of Leyden Labs Asia and Mr Khur Boon Kgim of Nanogent.ai. The conversation did not begin with traction metrics or AI demos. Instead, it opened with three questions often left unasked — the emotion behind the leap, whether the CEO seat ever felt like a costume, and one word for the entire journey. Their answers stayed personal. The room listened.

Speakers: Dr Rosemary Tan Boon Kgim Khur

Event Highlights

  • Welcome address by Mr Th'ng Beng Hooi, Director of NTU Office of Alumni Engagement, and mission-sharing by Chairperson Ms Susan Teh
  • Inside the Founder's Mind: Serial Entrepreneurs Live — candid panel with Dr Rosemary Tan (Leyden Labs Asia) and Mr Khur Boon Kgim (Nanogent.ai), moderated by Hendri Zhang
  • Three questions most panels skip: the real emotion when deciding to jump, imposter syndrome at the CEO seat, and one word that sums up the journey
  • Key takeaways: recognising opportunities, managing risk, choosing the right partners, and combining deep expertise with commercial thinking
  • Active Q&A on scaling, co-founder relationships, and raising capital — the discussion continued well beyond the scheduled time
  • Alumni from across NTU — CCEB, EEE, MAE, NBS, NTUpreneur, PACE, WKWSCI, CCDS, and more — came together, enriching the conversation with cross-disciplinary perspectives
  • Conversations continued long after the forum ended, with attendees forging new connections through the NAAE platform

Pre-Launch Series 1: AI for SMEs

Artificial Intelligence for Small and Medium Enterprises

What a night to remember! Our inaugural event surpassed everything we had hoped for — from the number of sign-ups to the quality of conversation in the room. The evening opened with an address by Prof. Wai Fong Boh on the objectives of forming NAAE, followed by Chairperson Susan Teh introducing the Executive Committee: Randy Ang, Chang Ling Seow, Hendri Zhang, Chen Zhenpeng, and Kou Yu. The panel discussion on AI for SMEs featured Louis Liu (Founder & CEO, Fomo Pay), Kou Yu (Founder, Zillia Robotics), and Dr. Yip Jia Qi (Senior Researcher, Menlo Research), moderated by Hendri Zhang. It ran a full hour and we had to wind it down — the Q&A was sharp, the laughter was real, and the networking dinner that followed went well past 10pm.
